Understanding Pulmonary Function Test Values - Part 3

Staff of pulmonary rehab programs often have questions related to pulmonary function tests and whether a patient is a candidate for a pulmonary rehabilitation program or respiratory services based on the test results. A better understanding of the values and what they mean is needed. However, staff of programs must also use clinical judgment in looking at additional patient-related information when making decisions as to the medical necessity for participation in such programs. After completing this webinar the participant will be able to identify pulmonary function test values that are required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for participation in a pulmonary rehabilitation program and related services. They will also be able to interpret spirometry and lung volumes to better understand the physiology underlying chronic lung diseases, and relate that to additional assessment findings for clinical decision making. This course is appropriate for anyone in a health care discipline involved in development of pulmonary rehabilitation program, as well as program staff working in an established pulmonary rehabilitation program but who is new to the field of pulmonary rehabilitation. It would also be appropriate for any pulmonary rehabilitation program staff interested in a review course on the various components and billing in a pulmonary rehabilitation program.
